Day 38 - May 31, 2011

Today, I was able to walk Aubree to school by myself since my mom is here and was able to stay home with Ashley. It was already 82 degrees outside & HUMID! The clouds were starting to break up on my way home & I was able to capture the sun peaking through the clouds. Even though it was rather uncomfortable outside, the view made it nice.

Day 37 - May 30, 2011

Absolutely hilarious!!! On Monday, since it was Memorial Day, I had a photo shoot with the Zimmerman Family. My Aunt Bernadette, Uncle Danny, and cousin Nicki, also came into town to see their grandsons so I had the pleasure of taking all of their pictures. This picture is by far the funniest shot from the day! I love how it shows the natural instinct of a mom to just pick the 'booger' off the kid's nose (we've all done it). Cheryl & Gavin's facial expressions are perfect for this type of shot. Good job Cheryl!! :)

Day 36 - May 29, 2011

On Sunday, my parents came to visit us since it was a holiday weekend. The girls absolutely love their grandparents. Even though my dad was supposed to help calm Ashley down for bed, I couldn't help but take advantage of this special moment between my parents and Ashley (but after this, I made them calm down...LOL).

Day 35 - May 28, 2011

On Saturday, I had a photo shoot with the Harris Family at the local train station. I got there a little early to check out the scenery and took a few quick shots. I loved this one of the old sleeper passenger car. Obviously, I had to give it an old look to it to get the real feel.

Day 34 - May 27, 2011

This is our new puppy, Diesel. We have had him a little over a week now and we are all simply in love with him. As you can see, he is a big cuddler. I took this picture while we were outside working on his potty training and he just rested his head on my lap. Too cute!

Day 33 - May 26, 2011

Today, we drove over the Belton Dam and there is a cool scenic overlook at the end. I love the view from there, so I stopped to take a picture. There were 2 bikers stopped also so I found a way to get them in the picture too. I love how blue the water was that day...maybe it had something to do with hitting 100 degrees that day. :)

Day 32 - May 25, 2011

Jade is watching over her new buddy, Diesel. He is an awesome dog and Jade is loving him! I used the 'faux HDR' effect on this one. I'm not loving it but I can keep testing it out.

Day 31 - May 24, 2011

This is the most off-the-wall photo so far (but the not most off-the-wall ever, I'm sure). Yep, I took a picture of my foot. I found a new color of polish at Wal-Mart today and I had to show it off. LOL Also, this picture is showing me how weird my feet and my toes look. I have wide feet with midget toes. Eric says I have 'monkey feet'. Guess he was kinda right. :)

Day 30 - May 23, 2011

Look who curled up in my bed and fell asleep this morning. Ashley usually thinks of our bed as a place to play so her falling asleep here is very unlikely. She looks so peaceful!

Day 29 - May 22, 2011

This Spring, we have been blessed with two families of birds in our backyard. One nest already has one of the two eggs hatched and this one has none of the three hatched. Unfortunately, this particular nest is up high and beings that I am vertically challenged, I can't see the eggs. So I took this picture holding the camera up and 'just winging it'. I got some weird shots but this one was my favorite. I can't wait until they hatch and show the kids!

Day 28 - May 21, 2011

'Say Cheese!' That's exactly what Ashley was telling Alex to say in this picture from Saturday. She's my little model. :)

Day 27 - May 20, 2011

This picture was too cute not to post up for Friday's posting. My cousin, Cheryl, and I took our kids out to the local spray park for the first time this Summer season. I was taking all kinds of pictures with my phone there and I luckily got this picture of Pearce smiling at me with Cheryl. The lighting was pretty screwed up on the original picture so I tried to fix it as best as I could. Great models, I must say!

Day 26 - May 19, 2011

I let Ashley taste her first 'Cheeto' today...needless to say, she was in heaven. :) I took this picture today after she finished them all and was looking at the residue on her fingers. She didn't quite know what to do with them but I put her fingers in her mouth and she took it from there. Haha!

Day 25 - May 18, 2011

It should be no surprise by now that I like taking pictures of water droplets. Here's another picture to add to the collection. :) This is a picture of the shower curtain a few minutes after I got out. It's kinda boring but I really like the different shapes that each droplet makes.

Day 24 - May 17, 2011

For today's post, I decided to add two photos...only because I couldn't decide which one was better. :) It's going to be Summer very soon and the colorful fruits and veggies at HEB are showing up again. Produce being in season is probably one of my favorite things about Summertime. These are obviously bell peppers and I bought one of each color. I am in love with the vibrant colors (and fragrances) these peppers are giving my pantry. Ha!

New Name

I changed the name of my blog today. '366 Days of My Traveling Eye' has been changed to '366 Days of My Wandering Eye'. The word 'traveling' was really getting on my nerves. Ha! Enjoy.

Day 23 - May 16, 2011

I find this picture hilarious and sad all at the same time. A few family members of mine have recently pointed out that our dog, Jade, has packed on quite a few pounds lately. I admit it, she has and I'm the one that has been spoiling her. Lately, I have taken Jade on a few of my walks during the day and also putting her on a little diet. I took her on a pretty strenuous 2 mile (3.7mph) walk this morning and I don't think she liked it too much. Can you tell? :)

Day 22 - May 15, 2011

Sunday we spent a relaxing morning/early afternoon with my parents and afterwards, we began our 4 hour trek home. It was beautiful outside yesterday and I hated that the girls and I were having to spend a lot of the day in a stuffy truck. So we stopped in San Saba (a little more then halfway between San Angelo & Temple) and the girls and I had a picnic and played in the creek at Mill Pond Park. I took a ton of pictures of the girls playing in the water. I chose to post this picture today because I love how it shows the splash of Aubree's foot in the water.

Day 21 - May 14, 2011

Saturday was another day of not taking many pictures so I had to settle with this one. Those who know me know that I have super thick and curly hair. It was so dry in San Angelo that I was able to blow dry it and straighten it. I took this picture of myself to show how long my hair is now. I'm thinking a haircut might be in my future before the Summer hits.

Day 20 - May 13, 2011

Friday afternoon, the girls and I headed out West to my hometown of San Angelo. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I took that day. :) It is the sunset as I am just beginning to drive into San Angelo...and the sun. It was so bright that I had to pull over for about 5 minutes so I could see.

Day 19 - May 12, 2011

Over the past 24-hours, we have received some much needed rain. And today, I had a few appointments at Scott & White Hospital. While Ashley & I waited between appointments, I took this picture looking out a large picture window. It shows what kind of day it was today.

Day 18 - May 11, 2011

I took a friend of ours to the local Amtrak train station and while we were there, I decided it would be fun to take some pictures of the trains and the area. I have been in downtown Temple quite a few times but I guess I never fully paid attention to the environment here. It was a photographer's fantasy! Here is one of many pictures I took of Miss Ashley today. I can't wait to do my first actual photo shoot here.

Day 17 - May 10, 2011

We had a few storms in the area today (all we got were a few sprinkles...as usual). As the storms moved out, we had the prettiest sunset. Aubree looked outside to check on the storm and yelled at me 'Mom! You have to come see this sunset!' I loved that I was able to capture the many colors of the sunset along with the storm clouds above.

Day 16 - May 9, 2011

Today was a scorcher! Our high today was 98 degrees and it felt every bit of that temperature. But I'm not complaining....I actually enjoy hot weather. I've done the cold weather climate and I'm a baby when it comes to that. Anyway, today's photo is of my truck's external thermometer. After sitting in the sun all day, the temp read 115 degrees! Obviously, it wasn't that hot. Once the truck started moving, it went down to 97 degrees. :) I chose to use an invert edit on this photo....it kind of reminded me of an extreme feeling, much like the temperature on the thermometer.

Day 15 - May 8, 2011

Today was Mother's Day...but I got my gift from Aubree a few days early. As she did her daily run to me after school was let out on Friday, she handed me this pot with beautiful flowers (that she planted herself). She is my first born and I am so proud of her. Love her so much!

Day 14 - May 7, 2011

This afternoon, we went to the Central Texas Air Show at the Temple airport along with my cousins Chris, Cheryl and their two boys. Gavin loves airplanes so he was excited. This shot is of him and Chris watching the old war planes pass by. His excitement made it that much more enjoyable for me.

(Side notes: Notice the logo on this picture - Surprise! It's my new official logo!! I have a few more tiny details on it that I have to fix but that is pretty much it. I am loving it. Also, this picture is by far my favorite one of the blog so far.)

Day 13 - May 6, 2011

We added another member to the family yesterday. Jade isn't too sure about her yet but she's keeping a close eye on her.

Day 12 - May 5, 2011

This is a small wicker box topper that I have sitting in the top console of my truck. The significance of it is that it was my Aunt Chris' from when she received her First Communion in the Catholic church. The box holds a rosary that she was given as a present. As some people know, our family lost my Aunt Chris a little more then a year ago to cancer. My grandparents gave me this and I now keep it in my vehicle to remind me that she is still with me.

Day 11 - May 4, 2011

My dog, Jade, was caught up on the bed and she knew she was in some trouble. She had no idea I was behind her and when I called her name, this is the look I got. :)

Day 10 - May 3, 2011

Today's picture has a little story that goes with it. This past Friday, Eric brought this picture home from work. He had it on his tool box and it was taken when I was about 7 months pregnant with Ashley and about a month before moved back to Temple from Lawton, Oklahoma. Me personally, I hate this picture of myself (although Aubree is adorable!). But my loving husband didn't bring it home to disgust me. He brought it home to show me how proud of me he is for losing as much weight as I have since this picture was taken. Now, I have it posted on our family bulletin board in the kitchen and every time I look at it, it gives me a little bit more motivation to keep going.

Day 9 - May 2, 2011

I took this picture from the front of our Ford F-150 truck. Whenever I see the Ford emblem, I think of antique things because of how long Ford has been around. I felt the 'old time' editing would be perfect for this shot.

Day 8 - May 1, 2011

This is my youngest niece, Ruth. She is such a cutie, just like her 4 other sisters. Today, she decided to show us that she can crawl...or at least move forward. :) It was pretty neat to be able to be there for it.
